“I do consider myself a good writer because I’m not afraid of the mess that is the writing process. We go through drafts, revisions, criticism. And, you just have stick with it. I remember one of my undergrad professors said just write. Don’t worry about sounding a certain way. Just put your thoughts on the page and let it take shape. That helped me to stop overthinking the process. The first draft is always a mess and ugly. Let it all out.”
