“This is my first semester as a student in the U.S. I come from Egypt, so it is very different. English is my second language. I know when I wrote in Egypt my teachers thought my writing was good. When I came to the States, I never knew if my professor would think my writing was good or not. I never know what the expectations are for a Ph.D. student in the U.S.”
