“I think the challenging aspect [of writing] is how much of myself am I willing to reveal to scrape the truth? And if I’m hindering that process, then I don’t deserve to write anybody else’s narrative. So it gets tough, like, can I go all the way and just scrape it all? And if I do, of course you know there is pain but then…I think I want it. I want that pain as of now, because that’s important to the entire process. Otherwise it’s not authentic. Then it becomes trite for me.”
