Writers of Mason: Ted Kinnaman

Ted Kinnaman

I always start with an idea that I don’t write, and let it sit for a while and then the putting of the pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, it’s always a big step because when I go from just thinking about something to actually trying to craft precise language, I always discover difficulties: things I hadn’t thought of, questions that hadn’t occurred to me I would need to answer. I always discover these things when I start to actually put words together. So I usually let it. Whatever the thing is I have to write, I usually try to just think about it, but then the real work is putting words together.”

Ted Kinnaman is an Associate Professor of Philosophy.
