“I don’t think it helps your writing if you are isolated by yourself. If you are in a community of people who care about language and can give you feedback about your writing, and I don’t just mean correcting your writing, but I mean somebody [who] doesn’t understand something and says, ‘I don’t understand how this is connected to this, or this is connected to this;’ or ‘I don’t understand why you drew your conclusion;’ or ‘I don’t understand what you mean in this sentence.’ I think your writing can improve with practice and feedback.”
